About Founder

Mr Heng came from a poor family, with nine siblings growing up together. His dad was a farmer whom his family depend solely on him. Fortunately, having sensible children who works and keep their living as soon as they are of mature age. Mr Heng Tok Ser, one of the nine children who is also the founder of Foo Heng Construction Pte Ltd came to Singapore in search for a living on his own. He is a Malaysian, 53 years old who learned through hardship and its perseverance of wanting a make an extraordinary life out of poverty. Today, still managing Foo Heng at his best that he can be; picking himself up from the failure of multiple unsuccessful businesses – many employees are looking forward into a better progression of the company so that they are also able to earn a living of their own. “These people needed my help; to give them a job.” Mr Heng said. “This is not the time that I can give up my business just like that.”

With the subsequent of disagreements among business partners, Mr Heng decided that he managed a business on his own and Foo Heng Construction Pte Ltd was established in the year 2001. “These days, steel fabrication supplies are needed and used largely by many contractors in Singapore. Now, this is the niche market.” The success of today, Foo Heng depends mainly by having regular developers chose to work with them. “Probably, they are familiar with our management style and work arrangement.” Mr Heng added.

Foo Heng is a privately held construction company with half a decade of experience as a general contractor. Delivering a wide variety of construction projects including office, commercial, governmental, student housing, medical and heavy construction projects.
